JITHA
RAI, M.D.
Dr. Jitha Rai was raised in Long Island, NY. She received her medical degree at the Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. After realizing that she wanted to pursue a career in gastroenterology, she began working as a clinical research coordinator at University of California, San Francisco. There she did research in the utilization of endoscopic ultrasound. She then went on to complete her internship and residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Rai subsequently completed two fellowships, one in hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania and another in gastroenterology and hepatology at Temple University Hospital. She joined Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants in 2010.
Dr. Rai is affiliated with the Einstein Medical Centers of Philadelphia and Elkins Park, Jeanes Hospital, and Kindred Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Rai has special interests in colorectal cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease, but treats all gastrointestinal issues.
Dr. Rai currently resides in New Jersey with her family.
